David Barber

Republican David Barber ’72 is running unopposed in the Alamance register of deeds election. Following his previous six-year term as the register of deeds from 2004 to 2006, Barber spent two four-year terms as a clerk of the superior court of Alamance County before failing to secure reelection for a third term. Barber went on to work as a private practice attorney until 2020, when he was elected as register of deeds. 

During his time in office, Barber has worked to computerize the extensive collection of documents and re-open the deeds office to the public following COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020.
